"Self-sufficiency does not mean 'going back' to the acceptance of a lower standard of living. On the contrary, it is the striving for a higher standard of living, for food that is organically grown and good, for the good life in pleasant surroundings... and for the satisfaction that comes from doing difficult and intricate jobs well and successfully." I thought we would be thwarted by the clouds.

But, in the end, everything worked out.

This was our view of the supermoon last night...

We live on an amazing planet, don't we?!  Well worth saving I reckon :D

    1. Awww, sorry to hear that Dawn. We almost didn't get to see it - until the clouds decided to move away.

  3. You captured it in all its glory!

May I inquire what camera you use?

  4. Wow, great pics. I gave up trying to get a decent photograph and just enjoyed it. Must say the cats were bouncing against the walls and acting all weird, quite entertaining.

  5. Glad you got a good view. I had ten minutes seeing just before bedtime when the moon was quite high, but thick cloud meant that most of the UK missed the actual moonrise which, to me, is always the most thrilling part of seeing a full moon.

    1. Jayne - Our "moonrise" was delayed by 25 minutes due to the cloud cover. But, I'm glad I got to see it - dunno if I'll still be around for the next one...

    2. Dani, I do hope you ARE around for the next. Whilst the somewhat-astronomically-ignorant media are touting 2048 or some-such date for the next "mega event", there is another very close pass in 2018.
You might enjoy this post on my friend's blog - he's a bit of an astronomy expert, outreach/educator fanatic, and writes a lot of common sense :)

    3. Jayne - I read that 2038 was the next major supermoon. That's 22 years... Added to what I've aleady accumulated that would make me 85 lol

Thanks for the link - I'll check it out...

    4. P.S. As mentioned in the kink - I didn't use a telephoto lens - merely zoomed in a bit on my point-and-shoot Canon, rested the camera onto a post to keep it steady and clicked. Then, for the last pic, I merely cropped to pic before posting.

  6. Beautiful ..... we had a fleeting glimpse of it Knysna, before it was hidden by the clouds. Thanks for sharing :)

    1. Rosemary - Yeah, clouds almost threatened our view, but we managed to see it after a 25 - 30 minute wait (in the cold wind lol)

Glad to be of service :D

Thank you for taking the time to comment - it makes my day and removes the "loneliness' of sitting at my screen blogging supposedly to myself ;) I try and reply as quickly as possible so please forgive me if sometimes my response is delayed.
